Delegates from CTGU went to Meijo University to attend the second session of Sino-Japanese Symposium

August 23thto 27th, the vice-president, Professor Zou Kun with the dean of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical College, Professor Chen Fangqing and eight teachers, 10 graduate students, went to Meijo University to attend the second session of Sino-Japanese Symposium on the plant resources utilization and ecological environmental protection.

President Jijiu recalled the fruitful results during the long history of cooperation and exchange between CTGU and Meijo University in his speech. In the fields of biological resources utilization, environmental creation discipline, traditional Chinese medicine research, applied chemistry, etc. both sides reached a broad consensus on some aspects, such as talent training, scientific cooperation and academic exchanges, and so on. The visiting mission also visited the gallery, relevant laboratory, affiliated farms and food research center that professor Isamu Akasaki, the 2014 Nobel Physics Prize winner’s workplaces.

The Cooperation with Meijo University began in 2011, CTGU sent teachers to the university as visiting scholars, both sides also exchanged students. In August, 2014, the first session of Sino-Japanese Symposium on plant resources utilization and ecological environmental protection has been held in CTGU. 15 students and teachers in total from Meijo University attended the seminar.
