The second lecture on CTGU career guidance for international students successfully organized
As the 2021 graduation season for the international students is approaching, our university has arranged and organized a series of activities for the international students in this graduation season. Among them, the series of guidance activities for international students’ employment and advancement are planned to help international students to be familiar with employment policies, master job-hunting skills and enhance their competitiveness in the workplace by inviting excellent alumni as speakers online and offline. The second lecture was successfully held online and offline simultaneously on 8thApril.
On April 8th, MD SAHIDUL ISLAM, 2020 alumni and a postgraduate student at Tongji University who served as the second speaker of the career guidance webinar. The Webinar was conducted simultaneously online and offline.
MD SAHIDUL ISLAM is master student. His research interests are water quality modeling, urban pollution control, water resources management etc. Through his experience,he shared about how to prepare for a job, how to do or publish research paper, how to apply for masters in a good university, how to search for employment information, what kind of qualifications do we need for a job.At the end of the lecture, he gave detailed answers on audiences’ questions about Chinese proficiency, professional knowledge. The webinar also hosted a special guest, Mr Li Yangbo from the College of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering to speak on how to plan the career for international students from the majors by sharing his own experience and put forward valuable suggestions for their growth.
The series of guidance activities for international students’ employment and advancement are sponsored by the College of International Communications and undertaken by the International Students Association (ISA). The college plans to continue to invite outstanding alumni of international students who are engaged in employment, further education and entrepreneurship, representatives of outstanding international students’ teachers in various colleges, and heads of relevant enterprises and institutions to continue to conduct a series of employment and advancement lectures for international students through online and offline presentations.
International students have expressed that they have benefited a lot from this employment webinar. Through the webinar, most international students expressed their views having a better understanding of employment policies, and also have a clearer understanding of graduation employment procedures, and application about the postgraduate studies and have more confidence in their own employment. They hope our university can continue to organize such activities.
