“One day this will be overAnd we will be Grateful for life in ways we never felt possible before.”

I am Sarbjit, a medical student of grade 3 of China Three George’s University. Today, I am going to write about my feelings as an international student staying alone in land of foreign especially in a critical condition as we all are familiar with {CORONAVIRUS}. Whole world is facing a crisis condition. But every bad experience leave behind a good learning for future.

When this is over,

May we never again take for granted,

A handshake with a stranger

Full shelves at the store.

Conversation with neighbors

A crowded theatre

Friday night out

The taste of communion

A routine checkup

The school rush each morning

Coffee with a friend

the stadium roaring

Each deep breath

A boring Tuesday

Life itself

When this ends, may we find that we have become more like the people we wanted to be, we were called to be, we hoped to be and may we stay that way-better for each other because of the worst. It’s the right time to slow down and check all your deeds. Do self-analysis and change for a better tomorrow. We have taken a lot of things for granted. Let’s Stop and Acknowledge.

From the very 1st day I heard about COVID-19 to till date I can understand the situation more comparatively because of my professional study in medicine. Though I got a chance to stay back in china or get back to my homeland INDIA. That day I was confused in my ways. I discussed about it to my family, my father who himself is a general surgeon helped me to get down to a decision. He gave me his real life experience teachings, he said that when in India swine flu outbreak took place, if we medical officials would have taken our steps back and ran away it would not be possible for us to get over it. In this statement he made me realize the responsibility of been a medical student, and I decided to stay in China and face the outbreak with all my Chinese friends. My father supported my decision, and daily he used to call me to give emotional strength and support.

From that very day, I started to make up a routine. I started following my hobbies, I started studying Chinese, doing exercise and of course my studies. I participated in few online Chinese competitions also. In one of them they asked us to write 200-300 Chinese characters, I really enjoy to write Chinese characters; Through these activists I got to utilize my time in very productive manner and also I started cooking myself which increased my cooking skills also. Before the outbreak, we were treated as foreigners but the love, gratitude and care we got in this epidemic period made me realize that we all are same. We were taken care as family we were provided with food, masks and with every needed goods. When in frontline medical officials were fighting to prevent us from epidemic at the same time many other departments workers were also working day and night to get over this critical condition.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.  Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is be well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using an alcohol based rub frequently and not touching your face.

The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you also practice respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow).

At this time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19. However, there are many ongoing clinical trials evaluating potential treatments. WHO will continue to provide updated information as soon as clinical findings become available. But till we get vaccine we all should take responsibility of preventing our Mother Earth.

In INDIA, we consider earth as our Mother because we are given food ,shelter and lifestyle by her. She takes care of us as a Mother take care of her babies in womb. So when now our Mother Earth needs us we should give full contribution. we should follow all safety measures mandatory for us today. Due to lockdown around world our Mother Earth is curing.#stay home#let Mother Earth heal.

Every day I see a bundle of people working hard for us may they be our teacher’s, aunties and uncles who keep a check over gates, my colleagues of International students association, food delivery service people and many more whom I even don’t know.

The day when my INDIAN friends, get evacuated and went back to INDIA. That day after they left within few minutes I got a call ,she was no one else but my dormitory’s aunty she investigated about my wellbeing. Now very few, maybe just 20 Indian students were left who were confident to stay back and at that time emotional support from the care takers made us feel very safe. Not just once, she always used to come and check our temperature regularly. Once she offered me a apple too, not just this but also she checks whether I have food available or not. When I work in kitchen she used to come and teach me to stand by the induction during cooking and after I finish I should always switch-off the lights. For our safety she always give us awareness. I look up to them and see how dedicated they are to their job. In night when no one is out that time also I have seen them doing patrolling alone. In epidemic time also they used to leave there family’s behind and came to take care of us. I was deeply moved by them.

“Don’t go out, Outside is not safe, stay inside; you are a child.!”

It is very common dialogue of my father and I am sure of all Fathers around think same for their children, But for my colleagues, Members of INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ASSOCIATION these thoughts were not same ,They worked voluntarily each day to comfort us in this epidemic situation. From morning till night, they used to be available for us in all means, maybe that is to provide food ,provide online cash or any other need which was needed for our survival. God Bless these children who helped us without getting selfish, when at same time we sleep or play on mobile phones they worked with full loyalty and dedication.

We just need to make a order in very hygienic conditions they cook and provide us food. I even cant imagine the beauty of this hard time .I can just see news and make out that thousands of worker’s are working hard to make our life comfortable in this situation.Municipal cooperation worker’s were sterilizing whole China .Each corner is being cleaned .

MOST dangerous thing other than COVID-19 is psychological illness.FOR mental well being of students we were provided with a psychologist with whom we can chat and find out ways to be mentally fit.The outbreak of coronavirus maybe stressful for people.Fear and anxiety about a disease can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children.Coping with stress will make you,the people you care about, and your community stronger. For that we should critically evaluate information integrity, fake news can build panic.Make a plan engaging in something productive.LONELINESS ADDS BEAUTY TO LIFE.IT PUTS A SPECIAL BURN ON YOUR IMAGINATION,SO in time of quarantine make yourself busy into something.Try focusing on you habits and health.

This is the question which we all have to answer ourselves.when I mentioned about All those who take care of me whom I saw,I can’t ignore the MEDICAL FIELD OFFICIALS each one of them have given us a heroic message. They are working on the frontline, risking their lives, making sure about our safety. This made me feel proud on my profession. The right meaning of sacrifice is taught by them to us they sacrificed their sleep, food, family time just for their countries.

My mother is also an gynecologist,so she is also working hard in frontline. She had duty at hospital for 14 days then need to be quarantined for another 14 days. She had not returned to home for about a month because of safety measures. This made me relate to every medical official. I feel proud on her and on every individual official involved in this situation. These are my mother’s pictures in hospital. As she is in her 50s, sometimes I get worried about her health but she is very strong as says that I have to just worry about my duty not myself. Today she stands like a brave warrior to me, I respect her decision and her love toward her profession.

“Victory is not always winning the battle....But also rising every time you fall”.

These are few lines which my understanding say China has ruled over.In 2012;when SARS EPIDEMIC took place China was not prepared but they worked hard and get over it and at the same time they learned from it. When in 2020, COVID-19 epidemic took place, China was prepared, they learned from there past and within few days they took were strong measures to control the outbreak. For a country to see this phase is very heartbreaking but at the same time the brave role of each individual of China showed patriotic behavior towards their country.
